Following the article I wrote two weeks ago titled: “Economic Impacts of Coronavirus in sub-Saharan Africa,” I’ve received requests on what my thoughts and views are on the reopening of economies on the continent.
Various countries in sub-Saharan Africa, which carried out lockdowns, are now implementing stages of reopening economic activity. Questions, however, still remain, whether infections will continue to rise and put further shocks in economic activity, leading to more lockdowns, or whether the spread of the virus will subside following the stringent measures of lockdown periods?
